2015 Breckenridge Cabernet Sauvignon, Jen Mar Vineyard
Tasting Notes:
The 2015 vintage of our Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of blackberry, cherry, pepper, plum, rose and anise. The oak is giving flavors of vanilla and caramel. The wine is youthful and really opens in the glass. The freshness of fruit really comes out with a little time. The wine hasflavors of plum, apple, cherry, vanilla and blackberry. The tannins are mild, while the palate remains full and rounded. There is a nice plush rounded feel with a long finish of vanilla, caramel, cherry and chocolate. Mild hints of tobacco and pie spice linger at the end.
Winemaker Notes:
The 2015 vintage was the third and most extreme drought year in a row. This lead to smaller crops and generally smaller berry size with greater concentration in the fruit. Our vineyard handled the intense heat just prior to harvest very well, as our older vines have deep roots and are rarely irrigated. A permanent cover crop aids in reducing berry size and intensifying concentration. We fermented with 25% whole berries in a wide tank allowing for gentle extraction of body and tannin.
The 2015 was aged in 80% new French oak for a period
of 22 months.

2014 Breckenridge Cabernet Sauvignon, Jen Mar Vineyard
Tasting Notes:
This might be the most intense fruit forward Cabernet Sauvignon we've made from our vineyard. The wine is packed with aromas of cherries, violets, rasperries, vanilla, olive,
pepper and hints of blueberry. The palate is really sensually balanced. Flavors of raspberry, boysenberry, chocolate and cherry. There is some pie spice from the barrel, and the tannins are really rounded and enveloping. The wine finishes with a refined fruit forward nature and lingering hints of vanilla.
Winemaker Notes:
Wine Spectator called 2014 "the dream vintage".
Another drought year, our fruit does really well with these dry conditions producing smaller berries and concentrated fruit. Our older vines with their deep roots are virtually dry farmed, adding to this
concentration and giving us depth of flavor and mature tannins at harvest. We fermented with 25% whole
berries in a wide tank allowing for gentle extraction of body and tannin.
The 2014 was aged in 80% new French oak for a period of 22 months.

A bright and balanced cabernet with zesty acidity and a satisfying mocha note. --Tastings
Tasting Notes:
The 2013 vintage of our Cabernet Sauvignon shows all that was great about the growing season. Mouthwatering tannins and some of the best color we seen from our vineyard really define this wine. This Cabernet has flavors of raspberries, cherries, chocolate, and tobacco. It is a complex expression of what our vineyard has to offer. Aged in 80% new French Oak the accents of maple, vanilla, and coffee really make this wine delicious. This is one of our favorite vintages to date.
Winemaker Notes:
The 2013 vintage was a perfect growing season for our vineyard at the south end of the St. Helena appellation. We got plenty of hang time, and tended the vines perfectly to maximize scattered sun exposure allowing for color, tannin and most importantly flavor development. Meticulously farmed by Jim Barbour the fruit came into the winery in immaculate shape. We fermented with 25% whole berries in a wide tank allowing for gentle extraction of body and tannin. The 2013 was aged in 80% new French oak for a period of 22 months.
